When Nakita was writing a wish list for what her new home would be like, she never could have dreamed of the perfect place that was waiting just around the corner. She wished for a home with another doggy brother or sister. Well, she ended up with THREE! She hoped that her new Mum would take her to puppy preschool and teach her how to be the best dog she can be. Umm...that new Mum is actually a respected dog trainer. And lastly, Nakita cheekily asked for toys to play with a
So...let's move on to the next lot of good news for the evening. You won't be seeing an adoption profile for Rico, because he's decided that he ain't moving! He's worked his magic on foster parents, Kerrie & Doug, and captured their hearts, so the big fella is staying put. Happy furrytail ending, Rico!
Sooooo...it seems that having only one eye just adds to Manawa's charm. He was a very popular boy indeed! Any dog that he was going to live with would have to be able to hold their own in the spotlight...and be beautiful enough in their own right that they wouldn't be overshadowed by the big fella's commanding presence! So it seemed only fitting that our two most popular available dogs should become a permanent pair. Marc & Alanah took home not one, but two stunning Malamu
Congrats to Ann, Dylan and their dog, Floyd on adopting one of the sweetest boys we've ever had the pleasure to rescue! Olly has formally joined their family after a happy and loving period in foster care with Chloe, Matt & their kids. We thank them from the bottom of our hearts for nurturing Olly during his time with them. Happy furrytail ending, Olly! You know what, let’s mix this up a little. Usually we let the dogs write their own profiles, but it this case we are going
Congratulations to Amy & Matthew on adding this character to their household. Thank you to foster parents, Andrew & Carmen, for patiently and lovingly caring for Haku during his stay with us. Wonderful Sonya & Chris, who've been the fairy godparents for so many of our dogs, have been this handsome young man's generous sponsors. Where would we be without all our wonderful supporters who pull together to help in whichever way they can? Happy furrytail ending, Haku! Single male
Rhonda & Adam have been carers of ours for a number of years now. Their inseparable pair of Malamutes, Mischa & Rufus, have been instrumental in helping foster dogs to relay and learn 'how to dog'. But when Mischa sadly passed away recently, Rufus was feeling pretty low. Rhonda & Adam thought that a foster dog might put some pep back into his step, so they offered to help us out with Collie. As it turned out, Collie really helped Rufus perk back up when given the task of p
Sometimes, we're so darn good at matching dogs to foster families that they stay put there permanently! This is the case for Raven, who has stomped her delicate little paw and demanded to stay with Kylie, Aaron, their girls and new Labrador bro, Bow. Happy furrytail ending, Raven!
Boy oh boy, did we get hammered with applications for this gal from all directions...everyone wanted Ghost! However, whilst competition for the best home was fierce, there could only be one lucky household chosen. So congrats to Marc & Alanah. They're actually doubly lucky (see Manawa's blog post)! Huge thanks go to Ghost's foster parents, Robert & Lisa, for taking such fabulous care of her, and to the Kuhn family for their generous sponsorship. Happy fuurytail ending, Gho
Four days after Christmas, we undertook an emergency rescue. Tequila was in very bad shape and we knew that she needed our help so immediately that there was literally not a moment to waste in getting her to safety. She was skeletal, with raw skin and patches of missing hair. It was clear that she had a lot of physical and emotional healing to do before she would be ready for adoption. Looking at this photo of her today after four months of nurturing by her wonderful carer
Okay, one last awesome piece of news before we call it a night. Bayley & Codie have caught Husky fever! It wasn't long ago that we announced that they had adopted their foster dog, Holley. Well..they've done it again and added Locky to their little family too. We congratulate them and welcome them to come and see us again if two Huskies aren't quite enough hahaha. Happy furrytail ending, Locky! Think Locky and you think Queensland hero. One of the greatest football player
