MIYAH has found her furrytail ending!
Our final adoption for the month of September was Miyah. Our sweet girl loves the company of her people and prefers them to be home a lot. Retired couple, Jean & Ian fit the bill perfectly and Miyah is now basking in their love and attention. Sharing that limelight is Husky big sister, Sheba, a grand old lady of 13 years. Thank you to Jean, Ian & Sheba for giving Miyah a safe and loving forever home. We'd also like to thank the Evans family, Acacia Ridge Pet Resort and Han

TOFFEE has joined our Silver Harness pack 08/11/2008-29/09/2017
In this game we call rescue, there are so many highs and lows. So much so that you feel that high only to have the rug ripped right out from beneath you. Everyone went gaga over our beautiful Toffee, and rightly so. Her beauty was not only skin deep, but she was as sweet as they come. Toffee had been with us for some time after having some routine vet treatment and us waiting for the all clear. In that time she was loved by 3 sets of carers, all who knew how special she r

AZZY (now Jazzy) has found his furrytail ending!
After four foster-failures in September, we finally widened our circles and adopted to someone new! Yaaaaaay!! So we made the SHAMROQ family a little bigger by welcoming Matt & Tania and their dog, Willow. These guys have adopted Azzy and, while initially they may have wondered what on earth they had gotten themselves into with this nutty fellow, they now describe their new addition as 'perfect and a big softie'. He has a new name to celebrate his adoption too. Please mee

FLICKA has found her furrytail ending!
September was definitely the month of the foster-failure, with the lovely Flicka joining the ranks as yet another lucky SHAMROQ dog who will stay permanently with her foster family! Anissa & Ben were 'just fostering' as they were certain that they wouldn't have another dog after the loss of their two senior Malamutes. Well, Flicka had other plans! She settled in, dragged them along to obedience classes and wormed her way into their hearts. We're glad that she recognised th

PUMBA (now Portland) has found his furrytail ending!
We realise that #3 foster failure for the month may disappoint some people, since puppies are rare in our rescue. Yes, Pumba would have been popular, but this little boy required a very specific home indeed. At only a few months of age, he had already failed a behaviour assessment in the shelter, due to fairly serious resource guarding. Left unaddressed, this could have become a real problem as he grew into a large dog. We knew we needed to find him a foster home with a pr

DAMON has found his furrytail ending!
Foster failure # 2 for September is our lovely senior gent, Damon! Although foster failure is a common term to illustrate that the carers have 'failed' to be able to part with their beloved foster dog, we like to classify this not as a failure, but as a big mutual WIN! This was definitely the case for Damon, who has spent almost 6 months with SHAMROQ whilst having some health issues addressed. It turns out that his foster home is the best possible place for him to stay, in

LUELLA has found her furrytail ending!
Add another dog to the list of foster-failures. Luella has decided that she's staying put with foster Mum, Bobbie. Happy furrytail ending, Luella!

TYSON has found his furrytail ending!
Tyson ran into a spot of bother, with his owner having to move interstate before a home could be found for him. We enlisted the help of Courtney and family to step in at the last minute and give him a safe place to land. We're pleased to announce that he's become a part of their family permanently. Happy furrytail ending, Tyson! Hello there! Pleased to meet you! I'm Tyson, but you've seen that already. I've found myself in a small spot of bother and my family need to move
