When he came to us, Blizzard was just a large, baldy, gangly bag of bones. He didn't even look like a Malamute! With the TLC provided by his foster Mum, Liz, soon he had gained weight and some hair too. Blizzard (or Robbie the Ski Dog, as Liz christened him...don't even ask!) loved human company so Liz found a local couple to provide doggy day care for him while she was at work. Jan & John grew to adore having the big guy around and their dog, Ruby enjoyed having a playmat
It didn't take long for Hiccup to worm his way into the hearts of foster Dads, Tom & Rich and their gorgeous girl, Storm. As you can see, it also didn't take Hiccup long to make himself right at home! Comfy there, buddy? Blind Freddy could see that he'd found his permanent home soon after walking through the front door! Happy furrytail ending, Hiccup!
Miss Pandora (aka Panda aka Pandemonium) may be a showstopper, but she's not for the faint-hearted. Weighing in at almost 70kgs and with a stubborn, diva-licious streak and singing voice of epic proportions, we knew that she was going to need a special carer. Being a SHAMROQ serial adopter and having been owned by a succession of very large Malamutes, Tamara was our first target...er...choice. Tamara & I kind of have an understanding. I give her a foster dog with the unspo
We knew that this big fella was going to be a heartbreaker! Thank you to Chris & Lynette for nursing Lycan back to health and readying him for a permanent home. He has now been adopted by Amy & Craig, who report that everyone who meets Lycan falls in love with him. We can see why! Happy furrytail ending, Lycan! Yo, peeps, Lycan here. I'm shopping for my new family so thought I'd pop a bit of a list here of what it is I'm looking for. I'm a pretty stubborn kinda guy (Duh,
We spoke this morning about how the oldies have a special place in our hearts. Then year old Dice is a great example of a senior who just needed a place to call his own. Although he has his share of lumps and bumps, he has such an amazing, laid-back personality that makes him easy to love. It wasn't much of a surprise then, when foster Mum, Katie & her family decided that he was staying put. We congratulate them on making it official. Happy furrytail ending, Dice!
Robert & Lisa have fostered a lot of dogs for us over the years since adopting their Malamute boy, Diamond. They've been very strong in not succumbing to foster-failure...until Inka came on the scene. Could you blame them, though? This special girl claimed a place in their hearts and their running joke of finding Diamond a 'wifey' came true! We're sad to lose them as foster carers after having their help with a steady stream of dogs over the last five years, but we're thri
We knew when Coolio came to us that he was a naturally skittish fellow who was going to take awhile to warm up. Things didn't quite go to plan when he managed to escape his foster carers, Maree & Caley, while out on a walk not long after he'd come into care. This young man had us all very worried as the days passed and there was no sign of him. Just when our hopes were starting to fade, we got a call to say that he'd been found! He had spent five days on the run, avoiding
