HITCH has found his furrytail ending!

Whilst plenty of people were lured in by his looks alone, there was always more to this guy than meets the eye. He was looking for quite a specific home and, after almost 12 months in care, we were starting to lose hope that the right family was out there.

Enter, Michelle & James and their two boys. From the very first meeting it was evident that Hitch, who's never been a fan of change of any kind, had chosen his new family. This little smooth operator would've quite happily gone home with them then & there!

Hitch had the most committed carers he could've hoped for. The Butner-Johnson family have probably lost count of the number of foster dogs they've had come through their doors, but we can say that they certainly all have something in common. Every one of those dogs has gone off to their forever home well-versed in what it means to be part of a loving family. We thank Nicky, Darryl and the girls for giving Hitch (plus all those foster dogs who came before him and those who'll no doubt come after him) the stability, love and guidance they've needed to go forth into their forever homes.

Yep, you’ve seen the name Hitch before, you know, the movie about the “Date Doctor”? Well here I am - the canine version in the fluff, but with ears a little more in proportion than Will Smith’s flappers! It's time for me to sort out my own future, so here goes! But please know that I'm much more complex than just these pretty pictures. I'm a typical male and well, it's going to take a special woman to tie me down, but I'm willing to give it a go. I do like the ladies. I can become a bit protective of my human chick and claim her as mine – so if you're a single lady looking for a companion, then maybe we're a match made in heaven. If there are other people in the family, I could be persuaded to come around, but they should all be teenage or older. I'd like to be the only pet in the household please. I don’t warm to new dogs out and about quickly, so dog parks aren’t quite my thing.

Daily walks are though, and not negotiable on my list of requirements! From my activity levels, you'd never know that I've been diagnosed with a slight tendon issue from way back. It hasn’t affected me and I've consulted one of the best chiro vets in the business. He tells me that if I do my stretches and take my supplements, then it’ll be just fine.

I do have a habit of trying to show my muscle off on my walks and pull a bit to show off. Walking with a harness can take a bit of the wind out of my sails though. I must admit, I can be a bit of a homebody. As long as the fences are secure at a minimum of 5ft with minimal gaps underneath then I won’t try any funny business. I also like to spend most of my time inside with my people. I am definitely not a dog for the Husky newbies out there and careful breed research will unfortunately not be enough. I need someone extremely dog-savvy and Sibe-experienced and it will take a little patience and effort to tame me. I have started to learn to sit on command and to wait for my food, but there is plenty more I can master too if you're committed to teaching me. I'm not a fan of sharing my food, so need someone who has the ability to show me manners at dinner time. So my human Hitch counterpart claims to be able to hook you up in three dates or less. I think that my new family will need a couple of dates with me first to make sure it will be a good fit.
