Welcome to SHAMROQ
Siberian Husky and Alaskan Malamute Rescue of Queensland Inc. is dedicated to the rescue, care, welfare and rehoming of Northern breeds, including, but not limited to, Alaskan Malamutes and Siberian Huskies, in the State of Queensland. We provide education and ongoing support of potential adopters as to the requirements of these special breeds.

Our ultimate goal is to ensure that all Northern breeds in Queensland are given the chance to live the life they deserve. We are a DGR-endorsed, ACNC-registered non profit organisation run entirely by volunteers.

There are so many ways you can help save a life. You can adopt, become a foster carer, make a tax-deductible donation, sponsor a dog, join our volunteer network, support us at our events or provide any of the items on our wish list.
So you've done your research and decided a Northern breed is for you? Or are you one of the many who are already owned by one of these gorgeous dogs and find them to be like Tim Tam....you just can't stop at one?
We are here to help you find your pawfect match! But you have to wonder...who's rescuing who?
Adoption Services
Each member of the SHAMROQ team has been an adopter themselves. We know first hand the excitement of welcoming a rescue dog into the family. We also understand that you'll have questions or maybe concerns about fostering or adoption.

Our aim is to have things run as smoothly as possible, whether it be foster care or adoption that interests you.
FAQs
For some dogs, their age and/or medical conditions mean that we provide their furrytail ending by keeping them close with us here for their twilight time. We're honoured to provide these special dogs with palliative care, so when it's time for them to cross the Rainbow Bridge, they do so safe in the knowledge they were loved!

CAN YOU FOSTER?
Because SHAMROQ doesn't have our own kennels, we rely on foster carers to house our dogs while they are awaiting adoption. Without more carers, the number of dogs we can help is limited. We need you! If you are in a position to foster a dog, please complete a Foster Carer Enquiry or click here to visit our Foster Carer Needed album on facebook.
