ZIGGY has found his furrytail ending!
We all wondered why this beautiful boy still didn't have a home of his own after so long. Now we know...it was just that his perfect family hadn't come along yet. That little issue has finally been remedied now though, with Drew and Ana and their Husky boy, Igor giving him the home that he had been waiting for so patiently.
Of course, that wait was really very comfortable, since the Zigster spent it as the foster kid of Sarajane & Daniel, who have been carers of ours for a very long time. After a record 22 months in their home, we know that Ziggy's absence is really being felt by them and their dogs. Luckily, we think we can slot another foster dog in there soon to heal the heartache wink emoticon Sonya & Chris have provided sponsorship for yet another SHAMROQ baby whose time has come to fly the nest and live happily ever after with a new family.EndFragment
Foster carers and sponsors are such an integral part of what we do and we are so humbled and grateful. So thank you, Sarajane & Daniel and Sonya & Chris. Your generosity means the world to us and we are so grateful that you've chosen to help our dogs in their transition from stray pound dog to loved family member.
Happy furrytail ending, Ziggy!

David Bowie fans will know at a glance why I was named after Ziggy Stardust. Of course, Bowie is bi-eyed just like me. His glam alter-ego, Ziggy loved being the centre of attention and while I don’t play left-handed guitar, I’m still something of a rock star. Every rock god needs an entourage…I’m living happily in a household with three other dogs and seem to get along OK with dogs who are non-reactive (no cats though please). But the fans, man…that’s where it’s at. I love attention and my favourite place to be is there, wherever you are now, there, right there.
I like to make myself accessible to my fan club by lying at your feet, resting against you…you can’t ignore me, you will simply have to pat me and tell me how awesome I am. Go on, you know you want to. In return, you’ll get kisses. A lot of ‘em. (I’ve been accused of being a bit of a sook, but we'll keep that on the downlow - my publicist says that's not good for my image.
Don't be fooled into thinking I'm a lounge lizard though. On, no. All celebrities these days have their own personal trainer to keep them looking their best. You’re hired…3-5km daily runs for a start. To be honest, you might just wonder who’s training who. I’m strong on-lead, active and need a lot of stimulation and exercise. Boisterous by nature, I’m unaware of my size and need to be reminded to settle when I get over-excited, so will only be suited to kids aged 8 and over. I’ll need secure fencing of 5ft or higher to contain me and my massive personality.
Housetrained and with basic obedience, I’d thrive with further structure and training as I’m motivated by two things – food and attention. I push the boundaries every now and then (what rock god doesn’t?), but I’m responsive to your reasoning if you can show me what’s in it for me. I like to go on tour and will settle for your car if no tour bus is available – just wind down the window enough for me to put my head out…but not an inch more, otherwise, I’ll go for the full daredevil adventure and see if I can get my body out too!
