BLACKJACK has found his furrytail ending!

This amazing boy came to us 6 months ago from Casino Pound (which is why we christened him Blackjack). Anyone who has had the pleasure of meeting him can tell you that his temperament is one in a million. His personality is every bit as soft and rich as his unique coat.

We're amazed that it took him this long to find a family to call his own, but good things come to those who wait. We're excited to see him settled in with Elizabeth & her family. Many thanks to Blackjack's carers, Kristie, Mark & David. We know how close you were to keeping him for yourselves, but we are so grateful that you chose to let him go so you could continue to foster.

Happy furrytail ending, Blackjack!

Well hey hey hey, please allow me to introduce myself. I’m Blackjack and if you play your cards right, I might just be your new best friend. What’s with the name, you ask? It pays homage to the wonderful staff at Casino pound who arranged for my rescue.

So I know you're probably thinking...Husky x Shar-pei? Say whaaaaat? Well, I'm predominantly Husky-like with the unique twist of a boofy muzzle. Wherever we go, you'll be asked about my origins, so get practising your spiel. What's that? You've heard that Shar-pei were bred as fighting dogs? No way, I'm a lover, not a fighter! I don't have an aggressive bone in my body - you'll be proud to take me to the dog park. I might initially put on a poker face when I'm meeting a new dog for the first time, but I warm up quickly and proceed to play and play and then play some more! I'm in foster care with 5 other dogs ranging in size from a Fox Terrier to a Malamute and I don't discriminate - they're all my buddies. To be truly happy, I'll need another dog (or dogs!) in my forever home to keep me company when you're not around. I'll be the joker in the pack. I haven't had any interaction with cats or other small animals, but little people are something that I sure do like. No, no, not for breakfast! I genuinely do like kids - the more the merrier! I'm the original King of Hearts.

Skilled at jumping, I'll need fencing of 6ft or higher to make sure that I'm safe and secure. But like all high-energy, people-centric breeds, the key to keeping me content will be lots of exercise and interaction. I'm a fit fellow and would suit an active human who shares my love of the outdoors, hiking and visiting the beach. (I looove the water!) When I've worn myself out, there is nothing that warms my heart more than being allowed in the house to hang with the family. Loyal, loving and intelligent, I'm housetrained and a quick learner when it comes to training.
